The Center for the Study of Democracy is searching to appoint a Roma fellow under the project Mind the gap! – Facilitating access to and take up of Youth Guarantee measures by Roma youth in Bulgaria, Hungary and Romania.
The successful candidates should meet the following criteria:
Personal profile:
Person with research interests and very good communication skills.
Professional competences:
Student or graduate in humanities (sociology, political science, economics, public administration or related fields);
Very good computer literacy;
Database processing skills (proficient usage of Excel, SPSS or similar software);
Excellent oral and written command of Bulgarian language, ability to compose texts and communicate formally with institutions;
Very good command of English (minimum level B2 in reading, writing, listening and speaking);
Independent spoken usage of Romanes.
Contract duration:
12 months, with 12-month extension option
Occupation
Part-time, 20 hours/week
Tasks and responsibilities:
Literature review and collection of documents and data to feed the research components of Mind the Gap! Project and other CSD projects connected with integration of vulnerable groups; Elaboration of charts, tables and figures illustrating different types of data;
Processing and summarising of collected data;
Recruitment of respondents for in-depth interviews and focus-group discussions among Roma communities, representatives of local and national institutions, NGOs and other relevant stakeholders;
Logistic and administrative assistance in organisation of meetings and events;
Note-taking in interviews, discussions and events;
Transcription of interviews;
Assistance in elaboration and collection of administrative and financial documents;
Drafting research and project reports.
