Center for Interethnic Dialogue and Tolerance "Amalipe" in partnership with the Faculty of Education of the University of Veliko Turnovo ,,St. St. Cyril and Methodius" organize a national scientific - practical conference "Intercultural education as a means to reduce Roma children drop out of school".

The conference will be held on 25 and 26 of June 2014 in the building of District governance - Veliko Tarnovo.

         Objectives:

- To demonstrate best practices, implemented in the program "Reducing Roma children drop out of school";

- To expand the space for the promotion of good practice and innovation applicable in Bulgarian schools;

- To enrich the educational community with modern methods of working with students, parents and institutions to reach and reduce dropout of Roma children in school;

- To give schools scientific support for development in the next academic years.

Conference organizers have sent invitations to all schools involved in the program “Reducing Roma children drop out of school – Every student could be a winner”, supported by the Trust for social achievement, as well as to schools outside the program, and all REI throughout the country.

Participation of the academic community, represented by lecturers from the universities in Sofia, Shumen, Veliko Tarnovo, Blagoevgrad is expected, as well as experts from the Ministry of Education and representatives of NGOs with proven success and know – how on the theme.

After the conference, Center Amalipe will issue a collection of the presented reports, after a signed declaration by the participants, given in the Regulation of the Conference.
