In the days of the conferences, held in Shumen, Varna, Targovishte and Silistra dozens of  teachers presented reports and shared best practices on topics related to extracurricular activities, empowerment of students and their ability to be responsible, partnership with parents as the primary point for ensuring regular school attendance by students.

Many difficulties were shared but there were much more ideas and ways to overcome them.

The participants showed their anxiety of the negative attitudes of some parents who did not want their children to be educated together with Roma children, especially in villages where schools are more than one. Therefore, some reports showing that teachers and principals were able utmost to overcome stereotypes through local forums, calendar of local festivals, analysis of the causes, joint activities with all ethnic groups of the settlement, involving parents in their organization, were supported by heavy applauses. All noted the importance of the existence of the three elements of the program:

-EPA "Ethnic Folklore"

-Student Parliament

- Parent club.

The findings of the conferences were of extreme importance in order to be addressed in the best way to solve the problems:

     - the experience of teacher is very important

-Methods of attracting and retaining children

-providing "space" for all children

- Differences should not divide, but to bring the children and all the people in the settlements together.

Many teachers also presented their final product of the activities, carried out in school.

All teachers had a lot to learn and a lot to share. They did not hide that the help, provided by Center
"Amalipe" was extremely useful, but they need to develop a methodology for working with bilingual children.

The best reports will participate in the National Conference in Veliko Tarnovo on 25 and 26 June 2014!

We express our gratitude to all the participants and partners!
