The scientifically-practical conference named Intercultural Education as a means of reducing the dropout of Roma children from school, held in great interest from 26 to 28 June in Veliko Tarnovo was followed by a meeting with school principals working under the programEvery student could be a winner, implemented by CIEDT,, Amalipe" with the financial support of the Trust for social achievement.

             The program involved 170 schools across the country and the majority of school principals participated in the meeting. Some of the principals, who were unable to attend have sent their representatives such as assistant principals or teachers empowered to make decisions.

           

The purpose of the forum was to analyze the results to date, to take account of weaknesses, to share the problems and consider reasonable and realistic actions to address them, to hear the actual results of the work program. And, of course, to share our achievements!

      Each principal - of a primary, secondary, or vocational school, showed its activity and results. In many cases, a problem of extreme difficulty / mostly related to lack of interest by parents/ was "debunked" by the applied practice and provoked applause from the participants.

      The following themes were discussed in overall groups and sessions:

- The effectiveness of implementation of program elements - extracurricular activities, parent clubs, school parliaments / councils.

- Methods and techniques for dealing with individual cases of early school leavers.

- Exchange visits between school teams and results.

- What do we want to change about the education system and in the particular school.

-How to trace the change .

The last in numerical order, but not least topic-How to trace the change brought many questions, exchange views and concrete answers from the team of Amalipe Center and Karina Fortuny-Director of "Educational opportunities and achievements" in the Trust for Social achievement.

    

The network of schools in the program "Every student could be a winner" aimed at retention and increase students' knowledge is very diverse as the number of students in individual school.

      In one of the sessions the principals were instructed and supported by details about the procedure for project applications to CEICSEM, cause winning project provides a good financial support for the implementation of extracurricular activities.

      For the majority of principals the presentation of the representatives of the Institute for progressive education, specifically-Jump Math innovative practice, and the presentation of colleagues from the Center for Educational Initiatives-U4ili6teto.bg were of great interest.
