The National Association of Roma Working in the Public Administration renewed its activity. This happened during a meeting that took place on November 7 in Veliko Turnovo. District and municipal experts who occupy positions connected with Roma integration took part in the meeting. They discussed how to renew the work of Association for preserving the expert positions on Roma integration in the public administrative structure, how to establish an effective network of Roma civil servants and how to foster the process of Roma integration. New Board of Managers was elected: Sasho Kovachev (expert on ethnic and demographic issues in District administration – Kyustendil), Valentina Sandeva (District administration – Pernik) and Boyan Avramov (Deputy mayor of Valchedram municipality). All participants elected also Sasho Kovachev for Chairman of the Association.
Deyan Kolev, Deputy Chair of the National Council for Cooperation on Ethnic and Demographic Issues congratulated the participants. He advised the Association to preserve its unity and to became the unique representative body of Roma civil serants. He expressed also his opinion that NCCEDI should support the work of the Association and should perceivge it as a partner.
The participants were congratulated also bhy Ilko Iordanoc from Open Society Institute – Sofia.
