08.06.2015The Vicepresident Popova, political and diplomacy representatives joined in manifestation of tolerance with the thousands of participants in the Children roma festival “Otvoreno sartse (Open Heart)”

 

The Vicepresident Margarita Popova, H. E. Mr. Rajesh Kumar Sachdeva, ambassador of India in Bulgaria, the ambassador of the United Kingdoms H. E. Ema Kate Hopkins, representative from the embassies of  USA and Nederland, the chairman of SACP Eva Zhecheva, district governor prof. Pencho Penchev, representatives from the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Health , the mayor of Veliko Tarnovo Daniel Panov, Karina Fortuni from TSA and others representatives from the region and from state institutions joined in the manifestation of tolerance “Let’s be better with each other!”.

On the main street of Veliko Tarnovo passed a hundred students from schools in the country, dressed in colorful roma and Bulgarian traditional dresses. With them were also community moderators and volunteers from the Centers for community development, Youth clubs for tolerance and school parliaments and partners from roma NGO’s in Bulgaria. The brass orchestra from Zlataritsa was the authors of the music during the manifestation.

“I came here with an open heart and I know that you all are here with hearts full with love, to show that we can do good things, when we are together”, said the Vicepresident Popova. She thanked to the mayor and to the organizers from Center “Amalipe” for the lovely celebration and express the support for the initiatives for increasing the educational level of the roma community and for overcoming of the ethnic separation.

With gratitude towards Center “Amalipe” started his speech the mayor Daniel Panov. The festival “Otvoreno sartse (Open Heart)” is organized in our city from 12 years ago and deserved a place in the cultural calendar of the old Bulgarian capital, said D. Panov. The mayor welcomed the kids, that participate in the festival, by wishing them to turn Bulgaria in one fo the most tolerant place in Europe, and Tarnovo in the best city for living.

The fact that you are together – roma, Bulgarians and turks; students, teachers, parents and youth – is the best answer to hate and the tries for ethnic separation!” – welcomes the participants Deyan Kolev, chairman of “Amalipe”. He thanked to the guests that respect the manifestation and with this they support the efforts for tolerance, which are the civil shield against anti-roma stereotypes.

The participants were welcomed also from H. E. Mr. Rajesh Kumar Sachdeva, ambassador of India in Bulgaria, and from the chairman of SACP Eva Zhecheva. After that the Vicepresident Popova lead the round dance of tolerance and friendship in which a thousands of participants joined.

The Campaign “Lets be better with each other!” was organized from CIEDT “Amalipe”, Association “Sviat bez granitsi”, Association “Nov pat”, LARGO and other organizations, schools and volunteers groups from all over the country and last a month – began on 4th of May.

The Children roma festival “Otvoreno sartse (Open Heart)” is the twelfth consecutive and held in Veliko Tarnovo from 5th until 7th of June. In the festival participate over 1800 kids, parents and teachers from more than 130 schools, guests form Macedonia, Romania and Greece. The event is financed from TSA.
