17.03.2017Participants in the program "Equal Chance" with very good success at the end of the first semester

Ninety-eight young people from the country are supported by Center for Interethnic Dialogue and Tolerance "Amalipe" in completing their secondary education, by paying their transport cards and provide them with textbooks. 64 of them are supported by the "Equal Chance - access to secondary education" Program, finaced by Trust for social achievement, and the remaining 34 are supported by funds from the organization.

The students come from poor families living in villages and small towns and studying in secondary schools in big cities. To keep boys and girls at school, Center "Amalipe" helps them not only by covering transportation costs and supply of textbooks, but also involve them in volunteering activities. The scholars are required to attend school regularly,to have at least least good average success at school and to be involved in extracurricular activities.

At the end of the first semester, the average grade of the students, supported by TSA was very good 4.66. The average number of unjustified absences is only 2.95, having in mind that 20 of the students do not have any absence. Twelve students have excellent grades, three - Russka Nikolova, Tsvetelina Bozhurska and Shefket Aldin have 6.00.

Center "Amalipe" tries to engage young people to develop their potential and to be active citizens. We believe that is the only way for the support to be truly comprehensive and to develop the competences of young people. For example, Sylvester Marinov, Antonina Sirakova and Tsvetelina Hristova studying in music schools, participated in numerous concerts outside their curricula. During the last period Sylvester once again has been a volunteer at the community center "Progress - 1897 ' in the village of Popitsa and home for elderly people in the same village where madethe elderly people happy with  attention and songs.

Many children participate in school parliaments and develop many activities locally. This happens in Yambol, Zlatarica, Sliven, Byala Slatina and others. We try to pay attention to each student and help him /her to believe in theirselves. After the active involvement of Dimitar Asenov in volunteering in the past year, his success for the same period has increased by one unit.

Longstanding support to these students leads to a high degree of success and motivation. It proved to be extremely important for not dropping out from school and to develop their maximum potential.
