26.06.2017Amalipe Center was elected for a second consecutive mandate for a Regional Coordinator for the North Central Region to the National Children's Network

From 21st to 25th of June 2017, the Annual Meeting of 2017 of the National Children's Network was held. This is the largest event of the year for the Network, which brings together representatives of over 140 NCN member organizations to review all of the Network's activities throughout the year, share experiences, share practices, and to create friendships.

In the framework of the Annual Meeting a Regional Meeting of the North Central Region was organized by the organizations from the districts: Veliko Tarnovo, Pleven, Lovech, Gabrovo and Rousse. Amalipe Center is a regional coordinator for the region with a mandate from June 2015 to June 2017. The purpose of this Regional Meeting was to produce a comprehensive report on the activities during the two-year period of the Amalipe Center mandate and to hold new elections for regional Coordinating organization for a next two-year term. We are pleased to announce that Amalipe Center has again been selected as a regional organization of North Central Region Organizations to NCN. Thanks for the voted trust! The new mandate is until June 2019, with Amalipe Center coordinating and organizing the work of 14 civic organizations from the districts of Veliko Tarnovo, Pleven, Lovech, Gabrovo and Rousse, working in the field of improving the well-being of children. The aim of regional coordination is to increase the efficiency of work in the Network; to support the activity of a larger number of members of the Network and to create more links between them; to stimulate activities at local and regional level, following both the general principles of the work of the Network and taking into account the specificities of the work of the individual regions.

During the Annual Meeting of NCN, several key themes and panels were carried out: House of Children Panel; Meetings of the thematic working groups "Education", "Justice", "Health" and "Family"; An exhibition of interesting activities, organizations and practices, trainings for changing attitudes towards children and young people from the Roma community.

This year's meeting was very special for the Network, as many children and young people from across the country were invited to participate in it. A valuable helper in organizing and preparing this great event were the young people of the Megaphone Youth Network, who were active participants in all the days of the Annual Meeting. The Amalipe Center also had its young representatives actively involved in the preparation and implementation of youth workshops and trainings.

The General Meeting of the National Children's Network, which, in addition to including an activity report and a review of the Network's strategic priorities, held elections for new members of the Governing Board and the National Children's Network Control Board. Several new organizations were also admitted to the General Meeting and the total number of members of the Network was 142.
