05.03.2020Mandatory flu vacation from 6 to March 11
All schools and universities in Bulgaria go on a mandatory flu vacation from March 6 to March 11. Students will be back in classrooms on Thursday, March 12. Kindergartens will remain open with the mandatory requirement for medical examination of the entrance, as well as enhanced measures for cleaning and disinfection of the premises. This is envisaged in an Order of the Minister of Health Kiril Ananiyev, which comes into force without the need for it to be re-signed by Minister Valchev.
The order also applies to schools that have been on a flu vacation so far and have had to return to classrooms by early next week. In other municipalities, the flu vacation may be extended beyond that date by the decision of the relevant mayor.
Center Amalipe asked the MES and we received a response saying that teachers do not need to go on leave - they may be present these days.
