The halls of the community centers in Batak and Balvan Varbovka proved tight to all wishing to attend the show, "Doctor, where are you?", which the volunteers from local clubs for Community Development presented to the gave the local people in three consecutive days –from 7th to 9th of September.
The idea for this show came spontaneously from the volunteers themselves, who decided that the theater is the best vehicle through which in a simple way to explain the problems of access to health services for vulnerable ethnic groups. The reaction of the local people during the three-day tours of the amateur artists in three villages showed that they are on right way.
The production is imbued with much wit and humor, her screenplay, costumes, decors and makeup are all done by volunteers, and some of the sketches in the show are based on real cases.
The show "Where are you, Doctor?" Is a joint initiative of the Center "Amalipe" - Veliko Tarnovo and the clubs for community development in Batak Balvan, Varbovka and Vodoley on the project for Community Monitoring for Health Care in Vulnerable Ethnic Minorities funded by the Open Society Institute - New York.
The perfect organization of events in the three villages made a very good impression of official guests and representatives of local government, which were attended the performances in the villages. The guests declared their further support for the activities of the local clubs for community development, as generators of ideas and actions to improve living conditions.
