Projects / The National Roma Integration Strategy in Bulgaria: moving from good documents to good actions

The project aims to monitor and advocate for the preparation of National Roma Strategy in Bulgaria as operative document with concrete and comprehensive implementation measures, financial back up from European funds and state budget, clear administrative and institutional infrastructure, robust monitoring mechanisms and mechanisms for participation of Roma community, civil society and municipal authorities. Integral part of this goal is also to ensure that Roma community and NGOs will participate on equal basis in preparing the National Roma Strategy.

The project is initiated and will be implemented by a consortium of five leading Roma organizations in Bulgaria: Center Amalipe is lead applicant, Roma – Lom Foundation, World without Borders Association – Stara Zagora, New Way Association – Hairedin, Roma Academy for Culture and Education – Sliven and Roma Education Fund are project partners. The project is financed by Open Society Roma Initiatives.

The project will be implemented from October 2011 to February 2012
