25.11.2015Wonderful presentation of students from Student parliaments to the solemn ceremony in Strasbourg

 

 

                On 23rd November seven representatives of Student parliaments established within the school program of Center Amalipe "Every student will be a winner" took part in the ceremony to mark Bulgarian Chairmanship of the Council of Europe Committee of Ministers and the Christmas bazaar accompanying it.  The event is co-organized by the European Association "Cyril and Methodius" and Bulgarian school "Hristo Botev" in Strasbourg. 

                The Bulgarian group was officially introduced by H.E. Katya Todorova, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Council of Europe and Hristo Hristov, who is responsible for the organization of the event.

                The group of students Stefan Stanev  (ombudsman in the Secondary school "Tsanko Tserkovski" in Elena town), Stoyan Petrov(Educational school in Yambol city), Yordanka Georgieva (Secondary school "Tsanko Tserkovski" in Nikola Kozlevo village), Angelina Grozeva (Secondary school "Neofit Rilski" in Dolna Banya town), Albert Angelov (Secondary school "Hristo Botev" in Galitche village),  Iliyan  Nedelchev (Secondary school "Hristo Botev" in Tutrakan town)  and Marty Draganova (37th Secondary school "Rayna Knyaginya in Sofia city) were headed from Desislava Stefanova , representative of  Center "Amalipe",  and Rositsa Ivanova, secretary of NCCEII. Using a compilation of popular Bulgarian and Roma music as a background, the students, dressed in authentic costumes of various ethnic groups held puzzle pieces with interesting facts about Roma and assembled the map of Bulgaria in front of the representatives of the Council of Europe. After that, the students Stefan Stanev  and Yordanka Georgieva performed an etude about the love between a Bulgarian boy and Roma girl. They invited the representatives of the Council of Europe and Bulgaria in Strasbourg to took part in a traditional Bulgarian dance.

               After the solemn ceremony, the students were welcomed by H.E. Katya Todorova, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Council of Europe and they told about their dreams and activities, organized as chairmen of the Student parliaments. Mrs. Todorova was told about the whole palette of activities of Center "Amalipe" and its role as the most important Roma organization in Bulgaria in the sphere of Roma integration.

                Center "Amalipe" participated in the Christmas bazaar in the Council of Europe , presenting  handmade paintings, dolls, posters and postcards made during the Roma culture classes in the Bulgarian schools, involved in the reducing dropouts program.

                The students take part in the "The Big Thing" group and they have been selected on the basis of clearly defined criteria, including active participation in Student parliament, initiating activities and campaigns for tolerance and continuing education.

                The program "Every student will be a winner" is an initiative of Centre "Amalipe" with the financial support of the Trust for social achievement and covers more than 170 schools throughout Bulgaria. One of the main focuses of the program is the empowerment of students and fostering them to be active Bulgarian citizens with a clear civic position.

25.11.2015Second regional meeting of directors

 

 

On 22nd and 23th November in the village of Voneshta voda was held the second regional meeting of directors, representing the schools involved in the project "Every student will be a winner". The event was for the schools from the North-Central and South-Central regions of  Bulgaria. Neli Nikolova and Atanas Kuzmanov, both regional coordinators in Center "Amalipe", led the sessions in the two days.
