24.11.2011What are the rights and obligations of disabled children and their parents?
On November 22, 2011 was organized a meeting between representatives of social services and municipal administration of Novi Pazar and children and adults with disabilities from the Roma community. The meeting was organized by the Center for Community Development – Novi Pazar in collaboration with “Humanitarian activities” Direction based on the community mapping done previously. During the discussion were asked a series of questions and inquiries relating to the rights of children and people with disabilities. The most frequently asked questions were “When there is going to be a sufficient number of personal assistants?” and "What are the requirements for the granting of technical aids?" The representatives of the “Child Protection” Directorate were asked about the legislation and procedures for applying to become a foster family and also about the possibilities people with disabilities to become foster parents. All the questions received their answers but the time was not enough for everyone. Therefore the representatives of the institutions promised a new meeting.
