One hundred and two computers have been dispatched by CIEDT Amalipe to schools included in the project ‘Decreasing the Dropout Rate of Roma Children from School’, to Community Development Centers established under the Project ‘Promotion of Fieldwork in Traditional and Marginal Groups of the Roma Community’, to local groups of Roma and Romany NGOs in support of their activities with view to improve the educational level of Roma youth and to empower the Roma community. The computers are donation – second-hand through which the Municipality of Lausanne and the Swiss Embassy in Bulgaria support the development of NGOs in the framework of ‘Restart’ Project. Except for CIEDT  Amalipe, donation has been received by the National Network for Children and Regional Association of Hospitals ‘Stara Planina’.

Amalipe has already utilized the donation for supporting activities in partner schools and organizations, as well as, Community Development Centers aimed at modernization and empowerment of local Roma communities in rural areas. Through the donated computers, CIEDT Amalipe fosters Student Parliaments (enhancing the motivation of children and creating a supportive school environment) and the Parent Clubs (with view to increase parental involvement and active participation in school life) in 37 partner schools in the ‘Decreasing the Dropout Rate of Roma Children from School’ Project. Activities of the Community Development Centers in Kameno, Peshtera, Etropole, Byala Slatina, Pavlikeni and Novi Pazar and local actors committed to community development aimed at preventing school failure, prevention of early marriages, raising self-organization and modernization of local Roma communities have also been supported by means of the donation provided.
