In letter to Amalipe chair Deyan Kolev the Secretary of State Mrs. Hillary Clinton expressed satisfaction from the meeting with Roma activists that took place during her visit in Bulgaria on February 5 as well as recognition for the efforts of Roma organizations.
“Dear Mr. Kolev, it was a pleasure meeting with you and your colleagues in the Roma community during my trip to Bulgaria. Our candid discussion was invaluable and added greatly to my understanding of the Roma community and the considerably efforts that you and others are making to further your individual and collective advancement – states in the letter Mrs. Clinton. – Thank you as well for the flag, framed photograph, and literature from the Amalipe Center. Your kind gifts will serve as fond reminder of my trip to Bulgaria.”
The Secretary of USA Mrs. Hillary Clinton met representatives of Alumni Club of Roma Stagier in the Parliament, Open Society Institute and Center AMALIPE during her 5-hours visit in Bulgaria on February 5. She discussed with the Roma activists the main challenges before Roma integration process and announced that USA joins the Decade of Roma Inclusion as observer. After the official meeting Deyan Kolev gifted to the Secretary of State Roma flag, picture of children who study Roma folklore and books on Roma published by Center Amalipe.
