20.04.2012The International Earth Day celebrated in Novi Pazar
A surprise was served to the townspeople on the occasion of the forthcoming International Earth Day by the Community Moderators of the Center for Community development, Novi Pazar (created by Amalipe Center, Veliko Tarnovo) and the Vocational High school of Agriculture. Because the dates happened to be the professional holiday of the High School the students presented a literary-musical program. The event began with a recital devoted to the Earth. Then the audience enjoyed the musical group “Mad-Young”, composed of graduates of the vocational schools in the town. The culmination was the quiz organized where the ‘History’ team and ‘Geography’ team were in a strong competition. The international Earth Day – April 22 is the largest secular holiday celebrated worldwide by over half a billion people. Each year the International Earth’s Day Network coordinates more than 12 000 partners in 174 countries aimed at protecting the Earth and preserve the biosphere. The network aims to create a broad civil support for sustainable and effective environmental policies for development worldwide.
