Amalipe welcomed representatives of the Bulgarian-Swiss Chamber of Commerce during the Chamber's workshop with business representatives from the region of Veliko Tarnovo. On 16 June, Mr Boni Bonev, Chairman of the BSCC, Vasil Radoynovski, head of the BSCC Secretariat and other members of the Chamber visited the Community Development Center for Veliko Turnovo established by Amalipe and equipped with some of the computers donated by the Municipality of Lausanne and the Swiss Embassy within Restart proeject. Teodora Krumova presented in detail the activities of Amalipe, the organization successful practice to introduce intercultural education and the prevention of school dropouts, the work of the Roma community development centers and the Roma Children's Festival "Open Heart", which has already become a tradition in the cultural calendar of Veliko Turnovo. She stressed that the Roma community has great potential which is not used so far: according to data from the last census 38% of Roma are young people, which is huge potential for Bulgarian economy. The guests showed particular interest in the specifics, traditions and culture of the Roma community in Bulgaria. They spoke with the Community Moderator for Veliko Turnovo Teodora Vasileva, Angel Angelov and Gabriella Danailova (field workers) and Momchil Baev, Coordinator of Health Programs in Amalipe.
