09.10.2012Center “Amalipe” organizes training seminars for the 2012/2013 school year

Training seminars for teachers, who start to work under the Program „Ethnos folklore-Roma folklore” Elective Training will be held in October.

The first seminar was held in “Manastira”complex on 5, 6 and 7th of October. 40 teachers from 27 basic and pilot schools from the regions of Sofia, Pazardzhik, Kuystendil, Blagoevgrad, Vidin, Vratza and Montana took part in the seminar.

The Chairman of Center”Amalipe” presented the objectives of the “Prevention of Roma children drop out of school" Program. He provided an opportunity for the participants to present themselves, to discuss their expectations of the training and then presented the main topic, “Ethnic Folklore-Roma folklore” Elective Training. In an attractive way teachers were familiarized with the theory and practice of organizing and conducting activities in the Elective Training, a Club or a Group under the, “Success” Program.

During the seminar the participants were introduced to the modern interactive teaching methods through which they could achieve the ultimate goal-awareness and respect for the culture and folklore of ethnic groups, increasing student interest in educational content, motivating them for regular school attendance, reducing the number of absenteeism, reducing the risk of dropouts.

All teachers, representatives of the pilot schools received materials to work in 2-4 grade groups, discs with interactive games, recorded music with songs, program discs with movies showing holidays and customs in different Roma groups.

With professionalism and experience, Center, Amalipe "once again activated all of the participants to take part in the discussions. The modules involved in the three-day program were moderated by Deyan Kolev, Theodora Krumova,  with the active participation of Maya Pencheva, director of the,,Vasil Levski" Primary school , village of Vidrare;  Yovka Rasheva,  teacher in "Hristo Smirnenski" High school, town of Byala Slatina and Tanya Vanova-program assistant at Center Amalipe.

The very informative meeting passed fruitfully with mood and satisfaction of the newly created inter-school contacts.
