26.10.2012Upcoming Training for Leader Teachers Working on The Program: Reducing The School Drop-Out-Rate Among The Roma Children and to Share Their Experiences With Others

 

From October the 26th to the 28th, 2012, Amalipe Center will host a workshop with teachers, who were selected to be Leader Teachers for the third year of the program Reducing The Drop-Out-Rate among The Roma children. The workshop will take place at Hotel Lesoparka in the town of Lyaskovets.

The length of this program is for three years and it is funded by America for Bulgaria Foundation. The Program is also supported by the Ministry of Education and Science and has national status; implemented in 180 schools in the country.

The objective of the Program is the idea that every child is important and its retention and motivation process should be administered individually. This is why Amalipe Center selected 60 teachers from across the country. These teachers have successfully implemented successful methodology that has attracted and motivated Roma students, their parents to attend regularly to school and continue their education. The focus of the workshop is centered on the Leader Teachers to share their experiences and best practices with other colleagues. And also, to address the problems in keeping children in school, improving the GPA of students and to work towards lowering the absentees of the students and increasing the participation of Roma parents in the education life of their children.

Ultimately, this workshop will promote successful models and practices which have been implemented over the past year in more than 90 schools.
