On 16 November 1995 the Member Countries of UNESCO adopted a Declaration of Principles on Tolerance and subsequent action plan for the year. International Day for Tolerance is born as an idea of ​​the stimulus this year. It serves as an annual day of training tolerance, and social and political debate on local and global issues of tolerance.

 Article 1 underlines the definition of tolerance as:

'Tolerance is respect, acceptance and appreciation of the rich diversity of cultures in our world, of our forms of expression and ways of expression of human individuality. It is supported by knowledge, openness, communication and freedom of thought, conscience and belief.

 -Tolerance means harmony in diversity!

 This is not only a moral duty but also a political and legal requirement.

 Tolerance is virtue ... "

Traditionally Center “Amalipe ", together with its partners- schools, institutions and Community development centers organize and participate in activities related to the International Day for Tolerance.

   Young people from Center “Amalipe "represented by K7 Club, Veliko Tarnovo, along with the Commission for Protection against Discrimination and Veliko Tarnovo municipality organize films presentation. The films are from the series Schools without discrimination of the Commission for Protection against Discrimination. The series consists of seven short films covering the topic of discrimination at school.

In the days around November 16 the films will be shown in two schools in the town of Veliko Tarnovo, respectively, in ,, Vela Blagoeva " High school on November 19 / Monday / at 10 a.m. and in,, G.S.Rakovski" High schol on 19 November / Monday / at 1 p. m. The screening will be followed by a discussion led by Ms. Diana Nikolaeva, regional representative of the Commission for Protection against Discrimination.

    Initiatives dedicated to the International Day of Tolerance will be realized in schools in the villages of Banica, Byala Slatina, Tarnak, Brusartsi, Dolni Tsibar. Schools in the villages of Septemvriitsi, Zlatiya and Valchedram will also celebrate the International Day for Tolerance.

  Moderators from the Community development centers in the towns of Peshtera and Etropole will present a poster on which citizens passing by the building of the municipality, will leave their messages.

    The Community development center  in Dolna Banya, will include the theme of Tolerance along with the health program topics.

"Tolerance Through My Eyes" is the motto of the week from 12 to 16 November 2012. in "Vasil Levski" primary school in the village of Vidrare. The activities are dedicated to the International Day of Tolerance and include competition for the best view of tolerance, presentations, role-playing games with children, parents, teachers and other participants. The best performers will be awarded.

Round table -discussion on the topic “Parents involvement in school life" , iniciated by Amalipe Center,  will be held on November 15, Thursday, at 10.30 a.m.in the village of Kardam, municipality of Popovo . His Excellency Jonathan Allan- UK Ambassador will participate in the discussion and the celebration of the International Day for Tolerance.
