In order to celebrate 16 November - International Day for Tolerance Center "Amalipe" organizes a round table- discussion on "The participation of parents in school life." The discussion will be held on November 15, 2012 / Thursday / 10.30 a.m. in the village of Kardam, municipality of Popovo, Targovishte district.
Participants in the discussion will be His Excellency Jonathan Allen - the British Ambassador and his wife, Liz Allen, Vladimir Ivanov, Secretary of the Municipality of Popovo, Darina Dimitrova, Director of "Education and Culture", Municipality Popovo, Zlatka Ivanova - Chief Expert "Social Policy and Humanitarian Activities" at the District Administration , Targovishte, Deyan Kolev Chairman of Center "Amalipe", parents, citizens and stakeholders.
The following issues will be discussed:
· Active participation of parents in solving the school problem;
· The role of the community in the education process;
· Cooperation between civil society and institutions involved in the educational process;
· Promoting good practice in reducing dropout students and practice advocacy.
Before the meeting, His Excellency Jonathan Allen - the British Ambassador and his wife Liz Allen will visit "L.Karavelov" primary school in the village of Kardam to see the atmosphere in the school.
The school in the village of Kardam has unclear status. By act N RD-14-129/12 July 2012 of the Minister of Education Sergei Ignatov, proceedings were opened in its closure. Active parents who want their children to continue their education at a local school, has filed a complaint of a closure decision in the Supreme administrative court.
