19.11.2012Tolerance means to respect
Tolerance means respect, acceptance and understanding. Regardless of where we live, what religion we have, what illness we have, we want to share with others our world, our intimate things.
On 16 November 2012 Community Development Centers in Byala Slatina, Etropole, Peshtera, Novi Pazar, Pavlikeni, Veliko Tarnovo and Kameno organized community events under the slogan "Tolerance - means to respect". The campaign started at 11.00 a.m. and finished at 15.30 p.m.
Posters were placed in front of the municipality buildings. Citizens and guests were encouraged by local activists to leave their messages and wishes for love and respect between people. Young people - volunteers from Community Development Centers, handed out to passersby red hearts with messages of tolerance. The red heart - symbol of love between people with a message of respect and acceptance of the other. The smiling young people managed to turn the cold day into a day of warmth, humanity and kindness. Along with campaigns for local communities there were campaigns in some of the local schools. Discussions were held on « Tolerance - is to respect " in “G.S Rakovski " high school, Veliko Tarnovo , the Vocational School in Pavlikeni , “H.Smirnenski " primary school, Byala Slatina and" N.Vaptsarov ", Novi Pazar . After that students teachers and parents left their messages.
Here are some of the messages:
"Tolerance cannot come by itself. When we are tolerant of each other in this world it should not be different because we are all equal - no matter who we are, what religion we confess, if we are poor, or - rich. "Angel Angelov, moderator of Veliko Tarnovo
"Sun Shines for All" - Milka Mihailova expert RIE Veliko Tarnovo
Tolerance is not just a concept, tolerance is not just for one day, tolerance - is as Kiril Simeonov wrote -"Be a person in life and love everyone around you!"
