03.12.2012Tom Sawyer from the village of Kardam renovated his school
On November 24, 25 2012 CIEDT "Amalipe" Veliko Tarnovo along with the school board of "L.Karavelov" primary school village of Kardam, Popovo municipality organized campaign "Tom Sawyer painting the school in Kardam." The initiative aimed at refreshing the classrooms and the school yard area. Parents, students, volunteers of Center "Amalipe" and villagers took part in the initiative.
There were provided brushes, paints and everything for the renovation of the school.
Within two days, officials from the Center "Amalipe", moderators and volunteers from the Community Development Centers in Pavlikeni and Strajitza, parents and students eagerly worked tirelessly for better vision of the school and the area around it.
As a result of joint efforts classrooms became colorful and welcoming. They turned into a sunny window to knowledge.
Students painted the wall of the school in national flag colors (white, green and red).
The idea of this initiative was prompted by the fact that children need to learn in a pleasant and colorful environment where to acquire knowledge and to develop themselves as individuals.
It was important to involve all stakeholders in order activity to be effective: parents - to participate in school life, children - if they have given something by themselves, then they will appreciate and preserve.
For us, the people working in the Center "Amalipe" it is important to make prerequisites for retaining children in school, making it a comfortable place for them so they can be themselves and develop their skills and knowledge.
