14.03.2013Kick-off meeting in Seville, Spain on the RedHNet project

 

From February 24 to 26, representatives of Amalipe Centre participated in kick-off meeting on the Romani People, Educational and Housing Policies: Key Links to Share (RedHNet) project- which was held in Seville, Spain.

The meeting was attended by representatives of almost all partner organizations: Centro de Formación del Profesorado de Castilleja de la Cuesta - Spain;Taller Acsa -Spain; ZSI-Austria; OASI- Italy; Programma Integra- Italy and CIDT Amalipe- Bulgaria.

Two of the project partners were missing on the kick-off meeting – ISPMN-Romania and CRIA –Portugal.

The project is a two-year initiative, funded by the European Commission within the "Lifelong Learning" program and it aims at:reinforcing the commitment of all relevant actors for the integration of Roma trough the creation and expansion of a solid EU Network for the mutual policy learning and cooperation;raising the awareness of decisional actors (i.e. policy makers, bureaucrats and public servants) vis-á-vis the most successful practices of coordination in the areas of education, housing and empowerment towards EER;improving the capacity of the actors involved in the Network to implement in their territories successful actions of coordination in these fields, providing them with specific inputs, methodological tools and useful knowledges for the development of better policy frameworks;monitoring and advocating the implementation of the National Roma Integration Strategies towards EER migrantsin countries of the project partners.

The partners visited the Andalusian Ministry for Education, Department of Education, Culture and Sport and were welcomed by D. Pedro Benzal Molero, Director General of Educational Innovation and Teacher Training, Consejería de Educación, Junta de Andalucía, D. Celso Fernández Fernández, Director General of  Equity and Participation, Consejería de Educación, Junta de Andalucía, D. José María Vázquez de la Torre Prieto, CEP Castilleja de la Cuesta, Junta de Andalucía. They were acquainted with the general description of the RedhousNet project, which was followed by presentation of each partner, involved in the project. Presentation of Amalipe center was made by Desislava Stefanova and Jose Lomeli.

The meeting continued in the Training Center for Teacher (CEP) of Castilleja de la Cuesta, which is part of a regional network formed by 32 Training Centers and is the coordinator of the RedHNet project. During the session the work-packages (Management, Research, Web-platform, Networking, evaluation, Dissemination, Valorization) were presented.

The last day of the meeting management and financial rules were discussed and the budget of the project was presented.

All participants left Seville enriched with experience, desire and motivation for even better results and expectations for new appointments.
