Peer visit under the Project "Promoting social inclusion of young people in marginalized Roma communities in rural areas was held from 16 to 18 April 2013 in the town of Tirgu Mures – Romania.   The visit is part of the project activities related to enriching experience and promoting best practices in the implementation of the Community approach to overcome social exclusion of young people in rural areas and encourage the mobilization of the population, in particular the Roma community in the process of initiating and implementing actions and policies related to solving problems in the community. During the visit, thanks to the hosts of "Liga pro Europa" - Tirgu Mures,  the round table included representatives of all institutions involved in overcoming social exclusion in rural areas of Romania, the NGO sector in the region, councilors , teachers of Roma language, cultural activists promoting Roma folklore, journalists and representatives of the community. After the hosts presented the institutional framework and its practical realization they shared their experience-based on the Center for Community Development in the village of Glodeni - Romania. The center is part of a network of six centers created within the project "Promoting social inclusion of young people in marginalized Roma communities in rural areas." In order to achieve a comprehensive view of the scope of the project and enriching experience the remaining five centers in the project, initiated by Amalipe Center– Radnevo, Knezha, Dolna Banya and Strajitsa-Lěskovec as well as Miladinovtsi village, from the third partner in the project "National Roma Center" Macedonia also presented their activities. Diversity of the Roma community, as well as specific problems and their solutions were confirmed by the presenting activities, facts and conclusions. After the Round table the group headed to the village of Glodeni, a place where it met the Centre's activities, local government representatives, problems and expectations of the community and discussed the possibilities for development and prospects of the region. The extremely hospitable inhabitants of the village of Glodeni welcomed the group with folklore, open hearts, homes and smiley faces. The language barriers, ethnic differences, social prejudices and fears were instantly lost. Sincere and well-intentioned talking became the basis of many new friendships, future joint initiatives and "cross-border friendship" - free from gender, ethnicity, educational and social level. All parted with wishes for future success, hopes for new appointments and readiness for partnership in all fields for the prosperity of the community and the development of their regions. At the end of this exciting visit partners outlined the guidelines for the upcoming activities in the coming months and confirmed that borders, problems and expectations are not barriers but bridges to reach a comprehensive solution to the problems of the Roma community regardless of geographical, linguistic and social differences.
