Today Bulgaria is clearer and Center “Amalipe” contributed for this. It was a part of the campaign “Clean Bulgaria for one day”. The campaign was conducted in the days from 19^th to 22^nd of April and 3 500 volunteers from Amalipe took part in it. The one of the most active volunteers was Velichka Koleva – 76 year old woman from Kameno town.

In the municipality of Veliko Tarnovo there were volunteers from the community development centers of Veliko Tarnovo city and the villages Vodoley and Ledenik. In the city of Veliko Tarnovo 19^th of April was the campaign day and the chosen place was the area “House of alpinist”. Municipality of Veliko Tarnovo gave free thrash bags and gloves to the volunteers. For less than an hour the volunteers collected 30 bags with garbage – mostly plastic bags, plastic bottles and cans. All of this stuff needs at least thousand years to decay. This area might be derelict, but it’s near to a living area and it’s a place which the people visit for relax at the weekend. There weren’t any dumpsters near to this area, so after the cleaning the volunteers had to walk with the garbage 2km. to a dumpster.

The village of Vodoley many people took part in the campaign – volunteers, students and stuff from the village hall. The campaign began at the early morning on 20^th of April and covered a few places – the suburbs, the school and the main street in the village. 30 volunteers from the Roma community and over 20 children from the school took part in the campaign as volunteers. The campaign will continue the next week when the volunteers will renovate the stadium at the village. In the village of Ledenik the cleaning was with a lot of enthusiasm too. The campaign there covered the Roma neighborhood and the center of the village. Not only volunteers from the center for community development, but students, citizens of the village and stuff from the village hall took part in it.

In the Kaltinets neighbourhood at the town of Gorna Oryahovitsa, the young people of the center for community development cleaned the park near to the Youth club and the area around the “Probuda” library. The municipality of Gorna Oryahovitsa gave trash bags and gloves to the volunteers for free.

The Volunteers from Pavlikeni and Byala Cherkva towns and the villages of Varbovka, Batak and Stambolovo also took a part in the campaign. In the village of Batak the cleaning covered 1,5km – from the neighborhood to the center of the village. In the village of Varbovka the volunteers cleaned the central park and the center of the village. There were also volunteers from the local school. In the town of Pavlikeni the Roma community from the neighborhoods was very active at the cleaning. They cleaned the neighborhoods and took the trash to dumpsters with two of their cartfuls. Many Roma children cleaned the area near the neighborhood – their favorite gaming place. The volunteers from the town of Byala Cherkva and the village of Stambolovo cleaned the streets and the grass areas in their living places. 

In the area of Peshtera municipality with most active volunteers from the center for community development there and volunteers form the association “Sun for everyone” were cleaned the places of the two Roma neighborhoods. Over than120 volunteers took part in the campaign. The cleaning in the city of Peshtera started at 8am. The municipality of Peshtera also gave truck and excavator for cleaning the identified places. For the cleaning were chosen places where there’s no dumpsters and the garbage is left down for long time. Regardless of the big number of volunteers and the technologies, one day wasn’t enough for cleaning all, so the campaign there will continue until everything is clean. The next thing municipality has to do is to place dumpsters at the both of the two neighborhoods.

In the city of Novi Pazar volunteers from the center for community development, Roma women association “Hayachi” and family-consultative center were cleaning areas predetermined from the municipality of Novi Pazar. There was an informational campaign before the cleaning, after it 150 volunteers from the Roma community, 40 volunteers from the local’s high-school and primary school took part in the campaign. One of the cleaning areas was the cemetery in the city and other – borough “Druzhba”. Except the plastic trash bags and gloves from the municipality the volunteers also took hoes and shovels for better cleaning. Only at the cemetery were cleaned 32 bags of garbage which were transported with a technique from the municipality. The garbage from the second place was less – only 17 bags, which shows that the health culture of the Roma citizens in Novi Pazar has grown. Except the cleaning in Novi Pazar, the initiative was welcomed in the villages of Enevo and Mirovo (municipality of Novi Pazar), but the volunteers there were only 52.

In the town of Kameno part in the campaign took volunteers in different age – children, young people and adults. The covered places were the areas near to the buildings of: Center for community development, the local school primary school and Bulgarian Red Cross. The volunteers also planted bushes and flowers around the buildings. After the campaign this places became friendlier looking. 55 volunteers took part in the campaign. The oldest one was Velichka Koleva – 76 years old. Otherwise Vasil Dimitrov from Bulgarovo village in the municipality of Kameno, helped with his own camion for the transfer of the garbage. There were 25 bags and one small camion with garbage from the municipality of Kameno. This year the citizen of Kameno said that their town is getting cleaner. They also think that this is a result from the active work with the local population for increasing the health culture and the regular campaigns for taking care for the nature and the living places.  

In the municipality of Etropole 70 volunteers cleaned the area of the two Roma neighborhoods and the Valley of Malki Iskar River.  The campaign continued 2 days – 19^th and 20^th of April, because of the activities. The municipality of Etropole gave free plastic bags and glove and even organized the transfer of the garbage. For two days only from the town of Etropole was transferred 4 tons of garbage.

For the organization of the campaign in the town of Byala Slatina the community moderators of the center for community development made different work meetings with experts from the municipality administration and with the mayors of the villages in the municipality. In the frame of the campaign took part not only the town of Byala Slatina, but the villages Turnak and Turnava. Over 100 citizens and 40 children from the local primary school took part in the campaign. The initiative will continue the whole week with cleaning at the town and at the villages in the municipality. 

There were hundred of volunteers in the town of Radnevo. The local citizens organized by the center for community development in Radnevo cleaned the cultural attractions, the green areas and the gaming places in the town.

In the town of Knezha people choused to clean the gaming areas and the places for relax visited by young and adults.

In the town of Strazhitsa and the village of Kamen over 40 volunteers supported by the center for community development in the town of Strazhitsa and the local government demonstrated their responsibility and respect of the Mother Nature the whole day. They cleaned the green areas, the sport areas and the streets.

The bases of the done activities in the town of Dolna Banya, at the campaign day were the center for community development and the volunteers. Parks, living and green areas, gaming places were not only cleaned, but planted with always-green plants, trees and flowers.        

And remember – keeping the nature clean is not our responsibility not only one or two days of the year! Let’s keep our country clean for our children and make it beautiful and friendly.
