05.07.2013European recognition
The efforts of Amalipe Center and 174 schools participating in the program "Decreasing the drop-out rate of Roma children "(funded by America for Bulgaria Foundation) were recognized at a high level. On June 26th, the European Commission published an evaluation of the implementation of national strategies for Roma integration of the Member States. The Commission also published examples of successful practices from each of the countries. The successful practice for Bulgaria is the participation of Paisii Hilendarski Primary School - the town of Galabovo in the program for decreasing the drop out rate among Roma Children, in particular the involvement of Roma parents and the EPA "Roma folklore".
The material titled "A Bulgarian school has eliminated the drop-outs after involving the Roma parents in their children's education" contains an interview with the principal of the school Mrs. Tyanka Kardjilova, an interview with EPA "Roma folklore" teacher Mariana Palazova and a note that the initiative of Amalipe Center includes schools throughout the country.
