15.07.2013Amalipe Center welcomes active parents across the country

 

The efforts of  Amalipe Center and 174 schools participating in the Reducing dropout of Roma children of school Program,  funded by America for Bulgaria Foundation were recognized at a high level, on June 26 2013. The European Commission published an evaluation of the implementation of national strategies for Roma integration of the Member States, where the program results and the work of the school "St. P.Hilendarski " in Galabovo have been presented.

Good results: a minimum number of children dropped out of school and a significant reduction of early marriages and absenteeism have been achieved thanks to collaboration between schools and parents, which is part of the elements of the program "Reducing dropout of Roma children of school."

In this direction, working with parents to be the active ones Center Amalipe will focus its activities in the next school year. From 16th  to 18th of July,  2013 Amalipe Centre organizes a meeting of parents, members of the parent clubs in the schools involved in the program, as well as in schools that wish to join.

Parents need a hand to get rid of the hesitation whether school is the real factor that would change their children's lives for the better ... said the Amalipe center education team.

The meeting will be attended by over 80 parents from different regions of the country.

The purpose of the meeting is:

- parents to understand their role and responsibility for regular attendance of their children at school;

- to familiarize themselves with their role as an element in the program;

- learn to work in teams;

- to share views and best practices;

- to transfer knowledge and train other parents by the parents teach parents method

At the same time, some of the training modules will include community moderators and members of local clubs in Bulgaria, as well as our partners from Romania and Spain to find out how they can cooperate and interact.

Amalipe team prepares the meeting with enthusiasm and expects it to pass under exceptional interest and activity on the part of parents and the new school year to begin with a desire for even better results in the learning process!
