27.03.2014Representatives from the American Embassy visited the Head Office of Amalipe
On the 24.03.2014 representatives from U.S. Embassy – Kristen Stolt and Evgeni Todorov visited the Amalipe’s Head Office.
The guests were presented with the ongoing projects of Amalipe Center. One of them was the project "Step Forward - empowering young people and women from the local community". Тhe problem of human trafficking in border areas was discussed as well. In this aspect, the activity of the community moderators in Kameno, which is included in the project, was presented. On the other hand, the representatives of the Embassy expressed support and trust in the organization.
On the subject of Roma integration challenges, Mr. Deyan Kolev, Chairman of the Amalipe Cener said that there are challanges, but lately, more and more visible and positive change, albeit slowly - modernization of the Roma community. 
Their visit was part of a planned trip of the representatives of the U.S. Embassy to Shumen, where besides taking part in the conference on the Development of Municipal Plans for Roma integration they met the volunteers from the club "Youth is tolerance''.
Amalipe Center’s team thanks for the attention and the support of the U.S. Embassy, Sofia. We are sure that our future joint activities in the field of integration and equal inclusion of Roma in Bulgarian society will continue.
