  The annual meeting of the National Network for the Children (NNC) took place on December 9 and 10 in Chiflik village, Troyan Municipality. Representatives of 34 NGOs that work for different aspects of child welfare (service providing, deinstitutionalization, education, health care, etc.) took part in the meeting. Roma organizations were presented by Center Amalipe, Sham Foundation and Future Association – Rakitovo.
The Assembly elected new Board of Directors of NNC. It is composed by “Parents” Association, Paidea, Center “Amalipe”, Club of NGOs – Targovishte and Samariani Association – Stara Zagora. Eva Borisova was elected for Chairwomen and George Bogdanov was elected for executive director of the Network.
Four commissions were formed: education, health care, child justice and children deprived of parent care. The Roma organizations joint Education commission. It defined as its priorities for 2010 integration of children with special educational needs and integration of children from the ethnic minorities. The Commission planed to prepare and propose to Ministry of Education criteria for data collection, mechanisms for implementation of national policy for Roma educational integration and a set of integration activities. The first session of the Commission for 2010 was planed for February 6 and 7.
