Amalipe club's activists from Veliko Turnovo and Pavlikeni municipalities participated in a working meeting to plan their activities for 2011. The meeting was held on 26 and 27 March near the town of Lyaskovets and it was moderated by Lyubomir Lazarov and Dean Kolev.

Coordinator for the municipality of Veliko Turnovo is Tanya Andreeva and Coordinator for the municipality of Pavlikeni is Valentin Vassilev, both from the Amalipe team.   They presented the process of building of local groups of activists in the villages from both municipalities, as they stressed the need to include representatives of each of the Roma groups in the village: in most of the settlements in the two communities live together Millet, Horahane Roma amd Dassikane Roma.

Until now, the local groups include mainly participants from the dominant sub-group in the village which should be changed. We need to attract also active Bulgarians, because we want to vitalize the life in the whole village Tanya Andreeva and Valentin Vassilev said.

Each group from the villages and towns of Vodoley, Balvan, Debelets, Batak, Nedan and Varbovka is planning its activities in the coming months, mainly with youth, women and children, and will also include activities with the whole community - eg community discussions on the issues of early marriages, celebrations on the occasion of St. George, April 8, etc .. Each local club will equip its meeting place in the relevant town hall, community center or school and attract new members. Furthermore, the local activists will organize community monitoring of health services provided.

This will be done following the method called "social audit" introduced in India by Prof. Abhijit Das. Professor Das himself would visit Veliko Turnovo in late April and will meet wth local activists on this occasion, Lyubomir Lazarov said.
