Responding to the suggestions of Center "Amalipe" submitted within the public consultation procedure on the draft of the National Development Programme "Bulgaria 2020", Mrs. Juliana Nikolova - Chairman of the Interdepartmental Working Group on elaboration of the NDP - sent a special letter to the organization. In it she thanked the proposals and stressed that the problem of integration of Roma in Bulgaria is serious and is one of the areas in which there is shared understanding that strong and targeted measures should be undertaken.

"There is no doubt that this topic should find its place in the National Development Programme “Bulgaria 2020” ... especially in the detailed sector strategies within NDP that would be prepared." indicated the letter. In this regard, Mrs. Nikolova offered Amalipe representatives (and other organizations) to be included in the work of the thematic working groups - particularly those in the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy in relation to poverty and social exclusion, labor market and Social Services, Ministry of Regional Development in respect of Housing, Ministry of Education and Science on education and schools, the Ministry of Health on health.

The National Development Programme "Bulgaria 2020" will be a strategic document outlining how Bulgaria will fulfill not only the targets set by Europe 2020 Strategy but also the national targets of Bulgaria. With order of the Prime Minister the preparation of this document is assigned to Interdepartmental Working Group chaired by Juliana Nikolova. The working group involves deputy ministers of 16 ministries. The document is expected to be finalized by the end of 2011 and to become the basis for the new National Strategic Reference Framework and operational programs, as well as for the national Programd, funded by the government.
