From 10th to 13th of August 2011 in the area near Veliko Tarnovo, named Lesopark was held a joint Voluntary camp, with the participation of activists from the local clubs for local development of Centre “Amalipe” in Batak, Vodoley,Varbovka and Balvan. This initiative was a part of the project for community monitoring of access to health of vulnerable ethnic minorities, funded by the Open Society Institute New York.
Young people from four clubs "Amalipe" became friends and shared experiences from the recently completed first community inquiry (under the methodology developed by prof. Abhijit Das) in the project places on access to health care as well as they planned together activities with their clubs.
The heavy rain has not stopped the young people to develop and present an open case studies of everyday life, that treat the particularities and problems of health care for insured and for uninsured persons. The acting talents of volunteers from Varbovka and Batak shined with full force and camp participants spontaneously decided to write a play, which can be played in four cities in order to achieve greater awareness of people about their rights in health.
Theatrical skits will be played at local community centers and are scheduled for early September. To wish success to this joint initiative!
