18.11.2011Meeting with children in parents in “Hristo Botev” Elementary School, Lopyan
On November 16, 2011 the moderators from Center for community development Etropole organized a meeting with student and parents in the building of “Hristo Botev” elementary school, village of Lopyan. The purpose of meeting was to present the activities of Center for Community Development – Etropole, the functions of the moderators and the partnership opportunities with the school. Discussed issues of the meeting were: how active are children in learning at school and is the content of the books accessible; what activities can be done in collaboration for increasing the school attending; work with parents to involve them in the school life etc.
There at the school already exists a School Parliament and the pupils even have chosen its chairman. Students who participate at the School parliament are very excited: that they have certain responsibilities and that they can take their own decisions concerning their education and future development. At the meeting teacher and students were interested about the different Roma groups and what are the specifics in their customs and traditions. Ther5efore this is going to be the leading toping of the next discussions the community moderators are going to organize in November.
