Conference on ‘Result-oriented Management: Effective Monitoring and Evaluation of the National Strategy of the Republic of Bulgaria on Integration of the Roma Minority’ brought together representatives of the Bulgarian government, the World Bank, the European Commission and Roma NGO’s. On the occasionof Midwives Day – January 21, known also as the Day of midwife assistance, all the centers for community development in Kameno, Peshtera, Etropole, Byala Slatina, Pavlikeni and Novi Pazar organized special celebrations.
Midwives Day is one of the most respected women’s holidays, celebrated for centuries in honor of the old woman-midwife in the area. The holiday is related with family traditions and it is equally accepted from all ethnicities living on the territory of Bulgaria. There is not a better reason for all habitants of the village...

Centers for community development, created by “Center Amalipe” in Kameno, Etropole, Peshtera, Byala Slatina, Pavlikeni and Novi Pazar organizing celebrations for Midwife’s Day as well known as Grand Mother’s Day. The celebrations will include:
Bathing small children from a midwife (old woman)
Feast of young brides by a grandmother
“Vlechugane” (bathing) of the midwife
Presentation of ritual songs;
For all the journalists wishing to visit the Midwife’s celebration we can organize a visiting at a Roma house.

20.01.2012Cleaning Campaign in the Roma the neighborhood in Novi Pazar
During the not so enjoyable afternoon of January 19, 2012 moderators of the Center for Community Development - Novi Pazar in cooperation with the municipality of Novi Pazar organized a campaign to clean the Roma neighborhood in the town. Just in two hours and despite the bad weather to the initiative responded all the students from the School Parliament of "Nikola Vaptsarov", Elementary School, Novi Pazar; high school students in Agriculture, neighborhood volunteers and representatives of the Family and Advisory Center.
